Sheena Patel Teton Raptor Center Rehabiliation Intern

Sheena grew up just outside of Washington D.C. and has been passionate about nature and wildlife ever since she was young. She earned her B.S. in Biology at Longwood University where she graduated in 2015 and where her interest in birds first began when she took an ornithology course. Upon graduating, Sheena started volunteering at a nature center where she assisted in the husbandry and upkeep of six captive non-releasable birds. It was here where she her love of birds completely blossomed which led her to land an internship working on the Chesapeake Bay bird banding osprey and monitoring wood duck nest boxes for a nationally recognized and ongoing wildlife conservation project. Sheena got into the field of avian wildlife rehabilitation when she began working at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science where she spent a year rehabbing raptors, songbirds, and waterfowl. She is very excited to be part of the team at Teton Raptor Center and work for a great cause in helping injured raptors return to the wild.
