Nick Ciaravella Field Biologist

Nick developed a love for wildlife in the marshlands and flooded timber of Louisiana, his home state. He became enthralled with birds in 1999 on a backpacking trip to Big Bend National Park in Texas. He has always been passionate about research. While working as a Paramedic for the 911 system in Atlanta, GA he was involved in studies on various patient care techniques which eventually lead him to a position with Emory University studying human brain injuries. Since he began working with birds, he's been a part of studies aimed at Neotropical migrants, Greater Sage Grouse, Great Grey Owls, and his favorite, the Golden Eagle. He loves photography, hiking, and whitewater kayaking.
