This male American Kestrel came into our clinic after it was found unable to stand in someone's house. We presume the bird entered the house through the chimney, and in doing so damaged the flight feathers in the right wing and the nerves in the right wing. Luckily the bird started to stand the next day! Treatment includes pain medication, laser therapy, and imping the damaged feathers.
Update: This Kestrel is still unable to fly appropriately with it's right wing due to the nerve damage, so we are continuing treatment with cage rest and laser therapy in hopes the nerves will heal with time.
