This mature Cooper's Hawk was admitted after being found unable to fly. X-rays revealed the bird was suffering from broken fingers. An unstable fracture, this patient will go into surgery at Jackson Animal Hospital to pin her finger bones in alignment.
Update: This bird came through surgery successfully, and is currently on cage-rest. The bird has returned to surgery two weeks after the initial visit to get the pin removed. After a few weeks of cage rest and physical therapy the bird has begun flight conditioning, currently performing 3-5 flights.
