This mature Sharp-shinned Hawk was admitted after a probable predator attack and upon examination a fracture in it's coracoid was found. Thanks to the Raptor Rescue Network volunteer who assisted in the transport of this bird, it was able to start treatment quickly! Treatment includes limited handling and anti-inflammatory medicine to help the fracture heal.
Update: This raptor is very active and self-feeding! New x-rays have shown the fracture to have healed nicely, with a fair bit of callousing already forming. After weeks of flight training, this bird is nearing release!
