Featherside Chat with Dr. Dan Lorimer: Avian Eyes

March 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Teton Raptor Center for a Featherside Chat on Wednesday, March 11th, from 6-7:30 p.m. featuring Dr. Dan Lorimer, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and member of TRC’s Advisory Council. This engaging evening, Featherside Chat with Dr. Dan Lorimer: Avian Eyes, will dive into the extraordinary attributes and adaptations of avian vision—unpacking why phrases like “eyes like a hawk” and “eagle eyes” exist in the first place.

Dr. Lorimer brings more than 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine and ophthalmology, along with a distinguished career as a founder of Michigan Veterinary Specialists, Georgia Veterinary Specialists, and BluePearl Veterinary Partners. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for several groups in the veterinary profession and has deep expertise in both clinical practice and veterinary business leadership. Dr. Lorimer earned his BS and DVM from Michigan State University and completed his ophthalmology training at Stanford University School of Medicine.

The evening will include a 45-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session and time to explore TRC’s Learning Lab. The program fee is $10 per person, and reservations are recommended. Whether you’re fascinated by raptors, vision science, or the remarkable ways birds experience the world, this Featherside Chat promises fresh insight and wonder.
