Birds have inspired musicians for centuries. Our next Featherside Chat explores what happens when that inspiration takes center stage. Join violinist Holly Mulcahy, concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, for an evening about Stealing from Birds, a violin concerto by composer Daniel Perttu. The piece weaves bird calls and themes into its music, and Holly worked with Perttu as he wrote it.
Holly will share the story behind the piece and how birdsong became music. She’ll also talk about what it means to bring the natural world into the concert hall. Our resident raptors will be there too. Come for a close, conversational evening where music and birds meet at Teton Raptor Center.
