Wyoming Wildlife Society Conference

Staff from Teton Raptor Center recently attended the Wyoming Chapter of The Wildlife Society’s annual conference hosted this year in Cody, Wyoming. The week-long conference was an opportunity for biologists, game managers, and wildlife scientists working in Wyoming to share ideas and learn from each other’s research.  The TRC team presented both posters and talks on some of the cutting edge work being done at TRC. Topics included:

• RaptorMapper Golden Eagle habitat modeling
• The Raptor Rescue Network
• Blood Chemistry in Wild Raptors
• American Goshawk wintering ranges
• Great Gray Owl calling behavior

Many of the projects that Teton Raptor Center is involved with are only possible through collaborations, and the conference was a great opportunity to connect with partners and create new connections. Diverse projects were shared by federal and state agencies, universities, and nonprofit organizations across Wyoming on topics ranging from insects to grizzly bears. Seeing how other scientists tackle conservation issues allows our team to think outside of the box and come up with creative new solutions to keep wild birds wild.
