SIPS Soar to Top of Barn
Last spring we opened the doors to our new employee housing units and the headquarters building, since then the focus of our site improvement project has turned to the areas for indoor and outdoor educational experiences, the Solar Pavilion and the historic Moseley/Hardeman Barn. Throughout the summer we’ve accomplished a great deal in an effort to adaptively reuse the 80-year-old barn, as the central hub for TRC’s education programs. The exterior logs have been chinked and painted, interior framing has created space for a “Learning Lab”, offices, bathrooms, and a nature shop, and most recently the windproof gothic structure was layered with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to aid in creating a year-round programming space. Work will continue throughout the winter with the aim of opening the doors to the restored barn in spring 2023. If you would like to learn more about our site improvement project or if you are interested in supporting this final phase to create a home for world-class raptor conservation, we’d love to connect with you.
